Classes are held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings for four weeks.
Dates include: June 22, 23, 24, 29, & 30, and July 1, 6, 7, 8, 13, & 14
What are Audition Workshops?
All dancers interested in competing on Dance Team in the 2010-11 year are required to audition whether or not they have been on a team in the past. Audition workshops include large group instruction in ballet, jazz and acrobatics. Workshops end with auditions conducted in small groups. Auditions include steps and combinations, previously taught, as well as short interviews, and are held before a panel of 2-3 dance instructors. Following auditions, within the week, dancers will receive notice regarding their status for team membership. Dancers invited to team will also receive contracts and choreography fee statements. After signed contracts and choreography fees are received, a dancer becomes on official Paula Brekke School of Dance and Tumbling Team Member!

Audition Workshop Dress Code
Girls - Black leotard, camel/tan tights; shoes: ballet and jazz. Taps and/or lyrical may also be needed by most dancers. Hair pulled back neatly, completely off face.
Boys - Black T or tank, black shorts; shoes: jazz and (if possible) ballet and/or tap shoes.
What is Dance Team Camp?
Dance Team Camp is a “jump start” to the competition season, initiating bonding that is vital for teams to be successful. Programming includes formal instruction and choreography from studio staff and special guest artists. Hard work during Team Camp prepares dancers for the new year of dance education and competition.
Lunches are provided. Dancers should bring water and a light snack each day.
Dancers should follow Audition Workshop Dress Code, but may add colors other than black. Girls may add shorts or skirts.
Dance Team Summer Camp*
Thursday-Sunday, July 15th-18th from 9am-4pm
*Dancers in grades 6 and up may have some additional evening class time and should keep all four evenings open. Dance Camp is required for all 2010-11 team members.
